What we can customise
Symbol design Our catalogue covers 400+ symbols, but every learner's world is unique. If you need a symbol for a specific activity, person, place, or concept, we can design and print it for you.
Size All tiles are available from 5cm × 5cm to 20cm × 20cm. Tell us what works for your learner and we'll produce to that specification.
Sets and systems Need a cohesive set built around a specific routine, environment, or learner profile? We can work with you to design a bespoke symbol set — ideal for learners with highly individual communication needs or settings developing a new AAC system.
Boards Custom communication boards with your chosen symbols, sized and laid out to your requirements.
School signage & wayfinding Familiar symbols don't stop at the communication board. We can produce tactile symbol tiles designed to sit alongside room signs, door labels, and key locations around your school — so the symbols a learner uses to communicate about a place are the same ones they encounter at that place.
This consistency is particularly powerful for learners with CVI, autism, or high anxiety around transitions. A child who recognises the tactile symbol for "lunch hall" on their schedule board can feel it again on the wall outside the lunch hall — reducing the cognitive load of navigating an unfamiliar or unpredictable environment.
We can work with you to plan a set covering the locations most relevant to your learners: classrooms, toilets, sensory rooms, reception, the hall, outdoor entrances, and more.
Mounting and fixings are arranged by your site team — tiles arrive ready to position, and most schools find standard adhesive strips or screws work well depending on the surface. Even good old blue tac!

STL files If you have your own 3D printer, we can produce and licence custom STL files so you can print in-house at scale.
How to place a custom order

- We'll discuss your requirements — We may ask questions about the learner, the communication system in use, or the environment
- We'll confirm design and pricing — Custom symbols are priced individually; sets and boards are quoted on request
- Approve and order — We'll share a design for your approval before production begins
- Dispatch — Custom orders typically take 10–15 working days from approval
⏱ Lead times: Because all custom work is made to order, larger or more complex orders will take longer than standard items. We'll confirm your lead time estimate once your order is finalised — so you'll always know what to expect. If you have a deadline, please tell us upfront and we'll let you know what's achievable.
