Description
Use the Core Communication TacTile Set to give learners instant access to the most used tactile symbols. Each 5 cm × 5 cm tile is 3D printed from durable, waterproof plastic with high-contrast raised graphics. These tiles support learners with visual impairments and complex communication needs.
The set includes 12 core vocabulary tiles:
Yes • No • Home • Toilet • Walk • Shower • Drink • Stop • Eat/Meal • Help • Wait • More
Keep these tiles in classrooms, homes or travel bags so they are always available. Offer them for quick choices, requests or instructions. Start with this set to build tactile AAC skills because these words appear in many everyday situations.
Example: a learner can pick the Toilet TacTile to request the bathroom or the Help tile to ask for support. A carer can hold out the Help tile and then show Yes or No to check what the learner wants.
In my school, staff carry the Toilet TacTile on their lanyards. Students can reach for it and communicate their needs without speaking.
See our How-to Guide for tips on introducing and using TacTiles (internal link).
